About the Episode:
In this episode, we will be joined by Dr. Barb Linnehan, a clinical veterinarian for the National Marine Mammal Foundation (NMMF) since 2017, caring for Navy dolphins and sea lions. As a child, she had a passion for marine mammals and dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Through hard work and determination, she achieved her dream and went to the University of Florida for veterinary school and obtained an aquatic animal health certificate. After completing a rotating internship, she went to the Vancouver Aquarium for a specialty internship and eventually joined the National Marine Mammal Foundation. In 2020, she became the Deputy Director of Medicine and in July 2021, she was appointed the Director of Medicine. She recently sat for the American College of Zoological Medicine Board Exam. She continues to inspire kids through many types of outreach, including her YouTube channel.
