As a young single mom living in the slums of Ho Chi Min, Esme Tran will do almost anything for her daughter to have a better life. So when the opportunity to come to America for a potential husband is presented, she’s persuaded to take it. But what she doesn’t know is her potential husband might require little extra work.

Khai Diep is on the spectrum and understands he processes emotions and situations differently, but believes he doesn’t know how to love — or rather CAN’T love or have feelings. Hence, he avoids relationships, but not if his mother has anything to say about it. That's where Esme comes in.

Will Esme be able to help unlock Khai’s feelings and understand love? Or will Esme return to Vietnam without success? There will be spoilers.
